100 Strangers: 3/100
I recently {11/08/2016} challenged myself to start the 100 Strangers project. The object of the project is just how it sounds- you approach 100 random strangers and ask to take their portraits.
My family was on the way home from Maine, and stopped to visit Portland Headlight on the way. I told my thirteen year old how nervous I was to approach strangers and ask to take their portraits. As an introvert, this wasn't easy for me, but I accepted the challenge anyway.
I first approached a couple standing and overlooking the water. They looked so sweet there. I often see people taking selfies and want to offer to take their portrait but I feel awkward asking and don't end up doing so. Hopefully this challenge will encourage me to do so when the opportunity presents itself.

Next I saw a woman gardening and wanted to capture a lifestyle image. I wanted to get her permission first though. After obtaining her permission, she posed for me.
Since I initially wanted a lifestyle image, I asked if I could photograph her gardening. I like how it turned out even though it's a little more posed than I would've preferred.
I also captured this one of two children playing on the beach, but I'm not sure if it counts since I didn't ask permission!
